Hello, I’m Laura! I moved to our lovely little town of New Bern from Charlotte, North Carolina in 2011 & have loved every ounce of living here. My little lump of sugar, Anna, was born in December 2019, and I am married to a gentle giant named Trey that is a New Bern native and also a real estate agent with Keller Williams (if you’re in need of real estate help, reach out to Trey @ (252)626-9555. I own an AVEDA & Organic Pure Care salon in downtown New Bern called Magnolia Jane Salon that I opened in 2014. We also own a Front Street Fish Co. downtown, a fresh seafood market with a restaurant that will be opening spring 2024.
I am a lover of all things animals, food, adventure, travel, reading, writing, traveling, learning, anything outdoors! Being a mama (and a woman in general) is not easy; we face postpartum depression, fertility struggles, hormones, balancing life & mom-guilt, among a mountain of other things. It’s important to know that you’re not alone and to be aware of the resources available to you. You can find all the local resources that I am aware of on this site!

I also created the “New Bern Moms of Little Ones” Facebook Group, which has over 900 local moms & caregivers in our area. Our family also loves being a part of Latitude Church. I am a part of the leadership team for our women’s ministry called SHE. We meet the 4th Friday of every month and have an awesome conference in May every year!
